Changing an owner is one Graph call. Knowing that every resource an employee owned landed with the right successor — and being able to prove it months later — is the actual problem. Votra treats ownership transfer as a verified, approved, evidence-producing operation rather than an ad-hoc admin action.
What makes the transfer verified
- Discovery first: the full inventory of owned resources is established before anything moves.
- Item-level execution: each file, folder, drive and site is transferred individually and tracked individually.
- Provider re-read verification: after the API call succeeds, Votra re-checks the resource so the verified state reflects the provider, not the request.
- Exception handling: failed and skipped items are surfaced per item, with retry — no silent partial transfers.
- Signed evidence: completed operations produce a tamper-evident export for auditors.
Separation of duties built in
Role-based access control keeps the initiator and the approver distinct, policies can require approval for every operation, and the audit trail records who did what. That structure is what turns a bulk admin action into a controlled business process.
Platforms
Microsoft 365 is live today — OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange and Entra ID read through delegated administrator consent. Google Workspace follows once its provider verification completes; its actions stay disabled in the product until then.
