Microsoft 365 is the connection Votra ships

Votra connects to Microsoft 365 today and to nothing else. This page states exactly what that connection grants, what Votra does with it, and what it deliberately cannot do.

The provider registry is the single source of truth for what can be connected, and it holds one entry: Microsoft 365 — OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange and Entra ID read through delegated administrator consent. The roadmap promise is Microsoft 365 today — more workspace integrations are on the roadmap.

What the connection grants

  • Delegated administrator consent for Files.ReadWrite.All, User.Read.All, MailboxSettings.ReadWrite.
  • Read access to directory and storage metadata, so Votra can enumerate what an employee owns.
  • Write access to ownership and permission records, so an approved transfer can be written back to Microsoft 365.
  • No scope that grants access to file contents. Votra never downloads, caches or analyses a document.

More on the connection

What the integration does not do

  • It does not move data between providers. There is no Google Workspace connection and no cross-provider data movement in the product.
  • It does not migrate mailboxes or bulk data. Microsoft 365 migration work is a data-move problem handled by Microsoft's own tooling.
  • It does not delete accounts, mailboxes or file contents. Those stay in your admin console and your retention policy.

The signed-in integrations view, where you connect and revoke a tenant, has moved to Settings → Integrations inside the app.

Frequently asked

Which platforms can Votra connect to?
Microsoft 365, covering OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange and Entra ID. More workspace integrations are on the roadmap.
Does Votra connect to Google Workspace?
No. Google Workspace is not a supported connection and Votra has no cross-provider data movement. Votra's scope is ownership and access metadata inside Microsoft 365; migrating data to or from another suite is handled by other tools.
What does the connection give Votra access to?
Delegated administrator consent for Files.ReadWrite.All, User.Read.All, MailboxSettings.ReadWrite. Votra reads and writes ownership, permission and sharing metadata so it can discover what an employee owns and move it. It never downloads, caches or analyses file contents, and it never moves data between providers.
Can I disconnect Microsoft 365 at any time?
Yes. Removing the provider connection revokes the delegated consent and stops all operations against that tenant. Completed operations keep their exported evidence according to your plan's audit retention window.

What Votra is

Votra is a platform for running employee offboarding and resource-ownership transfers on Microsoft 365 — with more workspace integrations on the roadmap. Operations discover what an employee owns, move ownership and access through provider APIs without ever moving file content, enforce approval before anything changes, and export a signed audit trail of every action.
