About Votra

Votra is a Microsoft 365 employee offboarding platform. It exists because offboarding data is lost quietly: the files move, or they don't, and either way nobody can prove which happened.

Microsoft 365 gives administrators tools for reassigning a OneDrive and for changing a SharePoint site's primary owner. What it does not give them is an inventory of what one person actually owns across a tenant, an approval step before any of it changes, or a verified record afterwards. Teams end up stitching those together by hand, and the gap between “the script reported success” and “the files moved” is where data loss hides.

What the product does

  • Discovers the OneDrive, SharePoint and Exchange resources a departing employee owns, and the sharing state of each one.
  • Moves ownership item by item through Microsoft Graph to a chosen successor.
  • Requires a distinct approver before anything changes.
  • Re-reads each resource from the provider after the change, so the verified state reflects Microsoft 365 rather than the request.
  • Exports signed, tamper-evident evidence of every completed operation.

The short version is in how Microsoft 365 offboarding works, and the architecture behind the safety claim is in how Votra keeps offboarding safe.

What Votra is not

Stating the limits is part of the product. Votra does not move data between providers. Google Workspace is not a connection, and there is no Google-to-Microsoft or Microsoft-to-Google migration capability. Votra does not download file contents — the architecture is metadata-only by design. It does not delete accounts or mailboxes. It is not SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified. And it is not a general SaaS management suite: how Votra compares with broader platforms is a fair place to start.

How it is built and priced

Votra is a web application with a Node API, storing audit and operation state in Postgres. You are billed for completed, verified operations — never per employee, per file, or per permission inspected. Failed, cancelled and draft attempts consume nothing. Prices are on the pricing page and the 7-day trial runs one complete operation before any payment.

What Votra is

Votra is a platform for running employee offboarding and resource-ownership transfers on Microsoft 365 — with more workspace integrations on the roadmap. Operations discover what an employee owns, move ownership and access through provider APIs without ever moving file content, enforce approval before anything changes, and export a signed audit trail of every action.
